Many of you might not know that I've been blogging for six years! I started my blog the same time I became a professional wedding officiant, back in 2011. Since then I've covered so many different topics like: wedding ceremony timeline, make sure to eat on wedding day, how to calm your nerves, where to wear your engagement ring during the ceremony, wedding vendor pricing, 10 tips for the best wedding processional, and so, so much more. I even wrote a blog post about the best Maine wedding resources to help you plan your wedding.Read More
I remember thinking about how I could make sure to eat on my wedding day. I'm a bit of a foodie (which just means I LOVE food) so it was really important to me that I eat. Plus, I get cranky and annoying when I don't eat, so for the sake of my new husband and all my guests, I decided to plan eating into my wedding day timeline.
Here are a few tips on how to make sure you eat on wedding day.Read More
If you're having your wedding and you're hiring a catering company which doesn't provide bar services, you're going to need to hire an independent bartending company. Luckily there are a few businesses providing bartending services here in Maine. Check them out:
Things you need to know about hiring an independent bartending company:
Consider hiring a full-service bartending company which will supply you with alcohol and take away the empties (less hassle for you)
If you do use a bartender that requires you to purchase the alcohol (which they will serve), remember that you and the bartender are criminally liable should a minor or a visibly intoxicated person be served
Ask if glassware is included in the price, sometimes it's a separate rental
Some provide the tables, linens, mixers, napkins, straws, garnishes, trash containers, and everything else you can conceive of that they'll need; others do not, so make sure you ask
Sometimes ice is a separate charge
Ask about tips, because tip money can be considered sales which then affects liability
What about returnables? Have a plan and discuss it with your bartenders
And of course, ask if they can make you a signature cocktail!
We all love food trucks! They're fun, festive and unique. People will remember your wedding for the meal on wheels! We're lucky to have so many awesome food trucks here in Maine. If you're looking for delicious wood-fired catering or fresh seafood dinners, you can get it with a mobile food catering company. Casual dining that food trucks allow for works perfectly for rustic Maine barn weddings or farm weddings. You get high quality food with a low-key vibe. Doesn't that sort of describe Maine?!Read More
