#oneword2016
Challenged to choose one word to sum up 2016, I chose the word “create.” But that doesn’t feel like enough. I’m not satisfied with just that one word, I need all the manifestations of the word create. So my #oneword2016 is actually five words:
create | creator | creating |creativity | creatively
Some of you may know that I quit my “day-job” last August to focus all my attention on growing my wedding business. I also formed the Maine Wedding Network to bring together wedding professionals who work in Maine for networking, community building, workshops and social events. Being able to put all my creative energy into growing both of these streams of work feels so natural and good. I used to only think of artists as creative, but I’m slowly learning that I’m a very creative person (just not with a paint brush). My creativity flows into all that I do: writing wedding ceremonies, communicating with my clients, creating community among fellow wedding professionals, designing workshops…the list goes on.
So, in 2016 I want to do more creating. I want to find new ways to express my creativity. I want to continue to be the creator of deeply meaningful wedding ceremonies. I look forward to creating new ways for wedding professionals to meet and grow their business. My focus will be to creatively engage with people, both clients and vendors. I will create!
