Some of you may have seen on my Facebook page that I recently traveled to Colorado Springs to perform a wedding. You must have been very curious since my tagline is “A Maine wedding officiant.” Well, here’s the story…
I met Paul and Sharon last summer at Katie and Jason’s Friendship, Maine wedding. My husband and I had the great pleasure of being seated at the same table as Paul and Sharon and we all hit it off. As I remember it I spent pretty much the whole dinner laughing my butt off (that’s an inside joke because Sharon’s last name is Butts!), which illustrates the good nature and silliness of these two sweeties. Paul had recently proposed to Sharon and they joked that I should come to Colorado the following year to perform their wedding.
A few months later, I received this Facebook message from Paul:
Maria! You should come to Colorado and marry Sharon and me. Bring Nick! You can stay at our place while we go on our honeymoon. We are semi-serious about this. Take care, Paul.
I was semi-serious about it, too, so we made it happen!
Needless to say this was the adventure of a lifetime. Red rocks, delicious food, jaw-dropping scenery, and lots and lots and LOTS of laughing! And, no, it wasn’t because marijuana is legal in Colorado. 🙂
Best taco truck in CO!
