Maine rustic barn wedding

On a perfect autumn day at the stunning William Allen Farm in Pownal, Maine, Chris and Melissa tied the knot...literally. They chose to create a Lovers Knot during their ceremony to symbolize the joining of their two hearts. The ceremony took place under blue skies and a apple tree, and I had the great fortune of being their wedding officiant.

Everything about this wedding was beautiful from the bride in a princess gown, to all the thoughtful rustic decor elements and the gorgeous overflowing of flowers from Snell Family Farm. It felt lush and comfy, rustic and cozy, elegant and comfortable. Just a perfect day all around!

Sunny Norway Maine Wedding

This is the love story of Jen and Justin, two of the most genuine, kindhearted, compassionate people. They chose to tie the knot at the Granite Ridge Estate and Barn in Norway, Maine, an excellent choice, if you ask me. With breathtaking views, abundant sunshine, the cutest ring bearer you'll ever see and lots and lots of laughter, these two joined their lives together in marriage and I had the honor of being their wedding officiant! Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Justin Miller!

Chebeague Island real Maine wedding

Weddings on an island are magical. First of all there's the ferry ride which just builds the excitement and anticipation of what's to come. And then there's the "we're all in this together" vibe because you're essentially stuck on an island together. And then there's the breathtaking views and historic charm. Whatever *it* is, getting married on an island in Maine truly is one of the most special and amazing adventures!

Callie and Harrison chose Chebeague Island for their June wedding. On the lawn of the Chebeague Island Inn, and after almost ten years of life already together, they finally became husband and wife. I got a little choked up when they exchanged rings. The strength of the love between them was palpable. Such a happy day! Although these photos are from my iPhone, I think you can grasp the stunning beauty of their wedding day.

I want to say a special shout out to the staff at the Chebeague Island Inn. Caitlin, Jessica, Tina, Matt and everyone who works there treats their clients and all wedding vendors with a level of kindness and professionalism that makes you feel welcome, comfortable, confident and supported. Thank you!

ICYMI: Pantone color of the year

As you probably already know, Pantone comes out with a new color of the year every year. I never really got behind the whole "color of the year" thing until this year. For starters, these two colors remind me of the ombre sky at sunset which is so achingly beautiful I just want to sign Adele songs til the sun disappears. I want to live in these colors! Then, I watched this little video from Pantone, and I love the words that these colors represent: wellness, balance, tranquility, duality, compatibility, calm, peace.

I would never say, "Ok, it's 2016, you should include these colors in your wedding because they're the 'color of the year,'" but I might say, "If these colors speak to you, if they represent the mood you want to evoke at your wedding, if they would bring you joy and set the tone for your married life, then by all means use them in your wedding!"

I'd love to hear your thoughts about the Pantone color of the year. Yay? Or Nay? Would you use them in your wedding?

Two Paths Become One | Camden Maine Wedding Officiant

Cheryl and Jonathan come from two very different backgrounds. Cheryl's life was more of a straight line where Jonathan was encouraged to live outside the lines. Cheryl has always called Maine home while Jonathan has lived in Venezuela, Hawaii, New Jersey and Las Vegas. Their two paths connected in one of the most beautiful ceremonies I've had the pleasure of officiating. Cheryl and Jonathan put so much thought and attention into every word of their ceremony and together we created something funny, heartfelt, sweet, and touching. Cheers to their two paths becoming one!

Wiscasset Maine Wedding Officiant

When you start down the winding driveway onto the Marianmade Farm in Wiscasset, Maine, you feel like you've just been given a big hug. The hillside, covered in lavender bushes neatly trimmed into round humps, slopes down to the Sheepscot River. Dried lavender hangs everywhere: the barn, the bathrooms, the cottage, which means the air smells like heaven (full disclosure: lavender is my favorite scent!). I'm not exaggerating, this barn venue, tucked away along the banks of the Sheepscot River, is a special, special place. And so it was the perfect place for Karissa and John to get married!

In the midst of the most gorgeous Indian summer in late September, with temps in the high 70s, Karissa, John and 12 of their dearest friends formed a band of love at the bottom of the grassy field. The barn, totally decked out in gold (!) utensils, antique bottles, and the most gorgeous flowers, welcomed their guests. I could go on and on about the perfection of the this wedding. I must say, it was the BEST way for me to bring my 2014 wedding season to a close. A big thanks and congratulations to the happy couple!
