traditional wine box ceremony

You may have heard of the wine box ceremony where a couple seals a bottle of wine and love notes, that they’ve written to each other, into a box during their wedding ceremony. The idea is that the box stays sealed until their 10th wedding anniversary.

If, however, they find their marriage struggling, then they are to open the box, drink the wine, read the love letters, and reflect on the love they felt for each other on wedding day. The hope is that they’ll never have to do that and can wait to enjoy the wine on their anniversary. Isn’t that the best? I love this unique wedding ceremony idea. If you’re a couple who loves wine, this can be a really special addition to your ceremony. Read on to find out a way to make this unique idea ever more awesome!

Here’s a way to take that idea and make it even more fabulous.

  1. Buy a really good bottle of wine and a special box that the wine bottle fits into.

  2. Ask people from all parts of your lives to write notes of wisdom, advice, or well-wishes.

  3. During the ceremony we will seal those notes inside the box along with the ones you write to each other.

Imagine reading all of these notes on your 10th wedding anniversary? I wish I had done this! It would be so meaningful, especially if you had notes from your elderly relatives. This could be the perfect addition to your wedding ceremony and I can help you make it happen
