Woohoo, you’re getting married! I’m so glad you found my website and blog. Let me introduce myself and tell you a little bit about what I do and what I offer.
Professional Maine Wedding Officiant
I am a professional Maine wedding officiant. I am technically a notary public and in Maine Notaries Public, not Justices of the Peace, are authorized to perform weddings. The authority to perform weddings is granted to different individuals in each state, and i am SO lucky to live in a state that allows notaries the honor. I do believe it is an honor.
What does an officiant do?
So, what does an officiant do, you might ask? I help you with every aspect of the ceremony from the processional to the recessional. I don’t just show up on the day of the wedding and read a few paragraphs, I’m intimately involved in helping you prepare the most important aspect of your wedding: the ceremony.
I work with couples to write the ceremony, I offer advice and guidance on the timeline of the ceremony, and can suggest readings, poems, and even songs that might be appropriate for the couple. I spend hours on each wedding and take the time to get to know the couples I work with. It’s a lot of work and I LOVE every minute of it!
More about Maria
i write this wedding blog where I offer advice, inspiration, Maine-centered topics, ceremony and vow ideas, everything from flowers and outdoor weddings to wedding trends and lessons I’ve learned planning my own wedding! I try to give you ideas for Maine wedding vendors and Maine wedding venues, too. And of course, if you’re curious about who I am, I have a whole bunch of blog posts where you can learn more about me.
