i’ve been meaning to write this post for a while now. and i think it’s time.
it matters where you get ready for your wedding. the room should be well lit, clear from junky clutter, beautiful, and serene. i say this for a few reasons.
- it’ll be much easier for your photographer. without all the clutter and fluroescent lighting, your photographer is free to take amazing photos from many different and creative angles without loads of junk in every shot. (caveat: i have seen some amazing shots that i love with loads of junk, but it’s gotta be the right kind of junk)
- when you’re getting ready to marry the person you love most in this world, a little serenity will help. i’m a believer of the theory that your surroundings are a physical manifestation of your thoughts. so allow you thoughts to be peaceful and calm with a clean and beautiful room.
- believe it or not, many married couples tell us that the “before” photos or the photos of them getting ready are their favorites of the day! you might think it’s the photos of the ceremony but more than not, it’s the photos before the ceremony they like best.
so, think about your venue and where might be the best place for you to don your wedding dress or button your cuffs. and if you don’t have the luxury of choosing a lovely location, then ask one of your bridesmaids or groomsmen to tidy up the room as much as possible.
