welcome: start here

congratulations on your engagement! i'm so glad you found my website and blog. let me introduce myself and tell you a little bit about what i do and what i offer.

i am a maine wedding officiant. i am technically a notary public and in maine notaries public are authorized to perform weddings. the authority to perform weddings is granted to different individuals in each state, and i am SO lucky to live in a state that allows notaries the honor. i do believe it is an honor.

so, what does an officiant do, you might ask? i help you with every aspect of the ceremony from the processional to the recessional. i don't just show up on the day of the wedding and read a few paragraphs, i'm intimately involved in helping you prepare the most important aspect of your wedding: the ceremony. i work with couples to write the ceremony, i offer advice and guidance on the timeline of the ceremony, and can suggest readings, poems, and even songs that might be appropriate for the couple. i spend hours on each wedding and take the time to get to know the couples i work with. it's a lot of work and i LOVE every minute of it!

more about me: i write this wedding blog where i offer advice, inspiration, maine-centered topics, photography tips, ceremony and vow ideas, everything from flowers, celebrity weddings, outdoor weddings, and wedding dress awesomeness to wedding trends and lessons i've learned planning my own wedding! i try to give you ideas for maine wedding vendors and maine wedding venues, too. and of course, if you're curious about who i am, i have a whole bunch of blog posts where you can learn more about me

even more about me: i work a full time job during the week and do wedding stuff in every other waking hour!

have a look around. use the search button liberally. i have a list of categories on every page, but if you're looking for something specific just search for it; you never know what you might find. you can also keep in touch with my on twitter, pinterest, facebook, and instagram

contact me to say hello or to ask any questions you might have about planning a wedding in maine. i can't wait to meet you and your fiance!
