i asked ericka to answer a few questions about her wedding in the hopes that it will help you plan yours. here are her answers.

Why did you choose the Harrington Meeting House for your wedding venue?

We chose the venue based on the building’s history, beauty, and location. We had the hardest time finding a place locally that stayed within our budget and spoke to who we are as a couple. We wanted to stay local and use local vendors.

Why did you choose the Round Top Barn for your reception venue?

The meeting house and the barn had been used by a couple for their wedding and I just happened to see their pictures through a co-worker. I fell in love and quickly showed Matt. He agreed, I set up a visit, and the rest fell into place. P.S. Darryn, the rental coordinator, was a gem to work with. The whole Damariscotta River Association was great but especially her! She emailed with me, took my many calls, and was so patient.

What was your favorite part of your wedding?

The best part of the wedding ….so many amazing parts! We just felt that the wedding reflected who we are as a couple. We loved having so many of our loved ones in the same place at the same time. To narrow it down to one part, I (Ericka) would have to say the exchanging of the vows blew me away. Matthew was the only person in the room. Everyone else just melted out of view.

What would you do differently next time?

I would take more mental pictures. The whole day flew by!

What advice do you have for couples planning their wedding?

Have fun, cry, and drink wine, have best friend on speed dial! Most importantly, create you and your partner’s vision. Smile and nod, take a week think it through, and then act.
